About the Rotary Senior Citizen Wellness Centre
The Global Development Foundation (GDF), in association with the Rotary Club of Delhi Janak, is pleased to announce the commencement of a Rotary Senior Citizen Wellness Centre located in Dwarka Sector-17.
Rotary Club of Delhi Janak is a vibrant part of the Rotary family within Rotary District 3011. Charter Date is 13 June 1990 and has 65 members. The Club does multiple community projects in Healthcare, Education, Environment, and Mental Health every year.
Global Development Foundation (GDF), an organization established in 2008 with the mission to promote community well-being, social development, and accessible healthcare services for all, aims to address the growing healthcare needs of the elderly population. Expanding this commitment, GDF was initiated at the senior citizen centre in 2014 in the name and style Agewell, which was inaugurated by Shri Gulab Singh, MLA, Dwarka, further strengthening its local impact and service reach.
Over the years, the Foundation has been actively involved in welfare programs, health outreach camps, and community support activities, with a strong commitment to improving the quality of life of underserved and vulnerable populations.
Recognizing the increasing need for dedicated Senior Citizen Wellness in Dwarka, where a large number of senior citizens reside and often face challenges relating to loneliness and mental health, the Rotary Club of Delhi Janak and Foundation is establishing this specialized Senior Citizen Wellness Centre and affordable services for older adults.

Services & Specialties Offered
Group Activities & Health Promotion Programs
To promote active ageing and social engagement, periodic group sessions will be conducted for registered elderly members, such as:
- Gentle chair-based exercise and mobility sessions
- Balance and fall-prevention training
- Cognitive stimulation and memory games
- Relaxation and breathing sessions
- Health education talks (nutrition, diabetes care, joint care, eye care)
- Emotional well-being and support groups
- Caregiver guidance sessions
These activities aim to improve physical function, mood, cognition, and social participation among seniors.
Comprehensive Geriatric Screening
To ensure early identification of health risks and functional decline, all registered elderly patients will receive basic geriatric screening, including:
- Vital parameters (BP, pulse, temperature, SpOâ‚‚, weight)
- Blood sugar screening (as indicated)
- Fall risk assessment
- Functional status (ADL/IADL) screening
- Nutritional risk screening
- Medication review
Mental Health & Cognitive Screening
Considering the high prevalence of depression, anxiety, and cognitive impairment among older adults, the Senior Citizen Wellness Centre will include:
- Depression and anxiety screening
- Memory and cognitive screening (orientation, recall, attention)
- Dementia risk identification
- Emotional well-being assessment
- Caregiver stress screening (where applicable)
Patients requiring further care will be referred to Psychiatry/Psychology specialists within the Senior Citizen Wellness Centre.
Accessibility & Elder-Friendly Infrastructure
The Senor Citizen Wellness Center is designed to ensure comfort, dignity, and ease of access for elderly patients:
- Wheelchair-accessible premises
- Supportive seating and waiting area
- Clear signage and guidance support
- Mobility assistance when required
- Barrier-free entry and movement
The aim is to provide a safe, respectful, and elder-friendly healthcare environment. The Centre is also in proximity to the Delhi Metro.
Rotary Senior Citizen Wellness Centre
The Rotary Senior Citizen Wellness Centre represents a compassionate and much-needed initiative to support the ageing population of Dwarka, Janakpuri and nearby localities through integrated functional, and psychosocial care. By combining preventive screening, group engagement, the Center seeks to enhance health, independence, and quality of life among senior citizens.
